I am pleased to announce this years Convention. I am excited by both a new fantastic venue and also the inclusion of 3 fabulous new bands :
1) Basing Street Band cover : early Free .
2) Free Spirit cover : Free and Bad Co and play the best versions of the tracks : Bad Co and Ready for Love Ive heard for some time.
3) Completely Free have the most authentic rhythm section around, featuring a young look alike Andy Fraser and a drummer who is the nearest thing Ive seen play like Simon Kirke, the whole band look the part too, sadly to say this will be the last gig for this line up, as bassist is moving on to pastures new - miss this line up at your peril !
So dare I say it, this might be one of the best Conventions yet.
I expect a lot of interest, this year ticket prices will be £8 for anyone booking prior to the 31st August 2007 and thereafter tickets will be priced at £10. As a past Convention supporter you are being given the first opportunity to apply for tickets before the general public, unfortunately I wont be allowed to let more than the capacity in, on the day. Tickets prices I am keeping as low as possible. Please make cheques payable to Bill Flynn and kindly enclose a large s.a.e. Tickets will be sent out from the end of August 2007 . Last years Convention raised £1200 for the Northern Brainwave appeal from the gig alone, and Im hoping to raise further money this year, this is a fantastic cause for us to all be involved in. .
I am dedicating this years event to my late father who died in February 2007, and you may understand that I have been slow to advertise the Convention DVD performance of last years event which was probably one of the great Convention concerts, featuring great sets from FREEWAY and HEAVY LOAD, this is captured perfectly on DVD with great sound and quality picture quality. I cannot recommend this too highly to you, I find that I revisit the DVD regularly, when I want some Free adrenalin in my veins! I have a limited number of these DVDs available at £11 including p&p once they are gone there will be no further copies made, I have not recovered my costs in having this produced, so would appreciate anyone who orders a copy. The DVD also has a great cover/and also is a picture disc, again I will be supporting the Brainwave appeal through profits from the sale of the DVD -a stunning addition to your Free collection. Also I have some black Convention T-shirts for sale, anyone interested please send a cheque for £11 (this includes postage costs). The Shirts will be sent out with Tickets. Please state size required, I will endeavour to supply the size requested -first come first served.

SUPERSTACK ANNOUNCES NORTH AMERICAN TOUR
Canada's "Rock Gods" to shuck Canucks, make a mess of the U.S. Lenny Kravitz was wrong, rock n' roll isn't dead. In fact, the best of rock music is very well and alive thanks to SUPERSTACK, who are embarking on their highly anticipated North American tour in July of 2007, hot on the heels of their widely acclaimed independent self-titled debut album.
The Sudbury, Ontario bred ~ southern rock-fed sound of SUPERSTACK has been sweeping radio station playlists and personal music collections all over North America like wildfire. Lead guitarist Scott Donnelly, drummer Brian Lahaie and bassist Greg Mihajic have grabbed the essence of 70's soul rock by the throat and breathed a fiery new life into its voice with an album destined to be a rock classic, and a live show experience that Scott calls, "a real rock rebirth".
The magnetic attraction to their music for those starved for a passing of the real rock torch has been overwhelming. In addition to mainstream and indie rock radio attention throughout Canada, the band has been gathering tremendous momentum online, often averaging daily play counts on Myspace reserved only for large major label acts. They have been warmly embraced by the fan club for 70's rock megaband Free, whose drummer Simon Kirke personally expressed his respect for their music.
The snowballing awareness of SUPERSTACK has resulted in securing a slot at the prestigious Atlantis Music Conference in Atlanta, Georgia, and Scott's recent addition to Gibson Guitars as a sponsored artist for the Gibson Firebird model, whose logo is tattooed on Scott's forearm.
As a pertinent example of the measurable effect SUPERSTACK is having on rock fans, in a June 2007 Habitat For Humanity all-request weekend fund drive on CHNO "Big Daddy Radio", SUPERSTACK was played twice an hour for 48 hours with over 1000 requests for their music. The demand that weekend resulted in the station playing all the tracks on the album several times! The project was thereafter referred to on-air as "the house that Superstack built."
Quotes: Long standing friend and fan of SUPERSTACK, The Trews lead singer Colin McDonald says, " They bring the best elements of 70's rock to a modern musical landscape, they're the band The Queens of the Stone Age would love to be." SUPERSTACK will be formally releasing their new single "Red Light" to Canadian radio on July 15th, and will be dropping a video of "Kick It On Down" on youtube.com late this summer.
SUPERSTACK kick off their tour on July 14th in Kincardine, ON at Capstock before performing dates in central and western Canada. Following a short breather, the band will begin their U.S. leg in Chicago, IL in late August, and will hook up with The Trews and Medusa Stone at Wheeliefest in Rowland, PA. As of this printing, the tour will wrap in Daphne, AL on Sept. 29th.

Lee teamed up with Tom Galley's PHENOMENA in 2000, they continued to write & record material for the latest album "PSYCHO FANTASY" Lee sings lead vocals on the tracks "SUNRISE"/"ALL THAT I NEED" & sings with Joy Strachan on "60 SECONDS". The album also features the legendary Glenn Hughes, Mel Galley (ex Whitesnake/Trapeze) & Tony Martin (the former Black Sabbath vocalist.)

Raised on a heady diet of Led Zeppelin, Free, The Who and The Black Crowes, The Answers contemporary take of bluesy, riff heavy hard rock is starting to turn heads. The band spent last year touring with Alterbridge, The Darkness, Deep Purple, Sound Explosion and The Tokyo Dragons and making their debut album. At a recent London gig none other than Jimmy Page stood and watched their set from side of stage and theyve already played at a Phil Lynott memorial benefit gig in Dublin as Lynotts mother is a big fan. So big in fact that she allowed Waters to be the first since Lynotts death to open his bass case and play the revered black iconic bass axe! Its the same black bass that appears in the video to Keep Believin.
