JANUARY 30th  2007

LYNN SORENSEN:

Since June of 2001 Lynn has been the bassist, back-up vocalist for Paul Rodgers solo band. From the Barrowlands in Scotland, to the Royal Albert Hall in London, to the Georgia Dome in Atlanta, to BB Kings in New York, to the Ryman in Nashville, to the Sidney Superdome, Lynn has toured Europe, Japan, Australia and North America with Paul. As Lynn puts it, "You have the worlds premier rock vocalist touching the hearts of millions, and I'm a part of it! He just gets better with age. He has inspired me to realize that no matter how long you do this or how accomplished you are at your craft you should always challenge yourself. It makes no difference how many gigs and sessions I do with Paul it is always a deep musical pleasure to hear that man sing!" After spending much of 2005 touring the world as frontman for Queen Paul is back with his solo band. Lynn will be touring with Paul in the US in the spring and summer of 2006 and the UK in October of 2006.

JEFF KATHAN:

Jeff Kathan has become what most drummers only fantasize about; being a true touring professional rock drummer. Jeff's solid locomotive style has earned him the honor of playing with some of the top rock musicians of our time; the legendary Paul Rodgers (Free, Bad Company, The Firm), Mark Farner (Grand Funk Railroad), Howard Leese (Heart), Ronnie Montrose (Edgar Winter Group, Montrose, Gamma), Randy Hansen, and many more.
At age 50, Kathan is living his dream playing stages all over the world and etching his place as one of the top touring drummers. This new-found status has earned Jeff many endorsements with companies like; D.W. Drums, Sabian Cymbals, Remo Heads, VATER Drumsticks, Buttkicker, CAD Mics, Puresound, Randall May, Levy's Cases, Westone, Red Bear Cleaner, Holz, and Starflight cases.

IAN CRAWFORD:

Crawford picked up the guitar at 11 years old, and by the time he was 13 was playing weekend bar shows with help from friend and teacher Cory Wilds. In March of 2005 Crawford got hooked up with Lynn Sorensen and Jeff Kathan through a contest with 102.5 KZOK's Bob Rivers show. Sorensen and Kathan were part of the house band for an all-star classic rock tribute. After auditioning and getting a guitar spot at just 16 years old, the three played (and still continue to play) with KZOK's 'SPIKE AND THE IMPALERS', getting openings for LYNYRD SKYNYRD and other great rock acts, and playing sold-out shows all over the Northwest.

Now at just age 18, Ian has done music for the Seattle Seahawks, live Television performances, recorded on rap/hip-hop beats for local artists, and writen and recorded music for Las Vegas film company REALM Films. For the last 3 years Ian has also been a hard-working guitar instructor, and is now teaching lessons at A Sharp Music in Renton (
www.asharpmusicco.com).

Sex and Violins are currently finishing up writing and recording material for their first cd, scheduled to be out early 2007. The band will also be shooting a new music video for the track 'Sex and Violins' that will be out soon.

From VH1 Music First

RODGERS RULES JAPAN. Paul Rodgers was voted the best vocalist by Japanese rock fans. In the 2006 Player magazine Readers’ Poll, Rodgers came out on top of Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler, Eric Clapton, Whitesnake’s David Coverdale, The Rolling Stone’s Mick Jagger, The Red Hot Chili Peppers’ Anthony Kiedis, Bon Jovi’s Jon Bon Jovi and a few Japanese artists to grab the number one position.

…AND RECORDS WITH QUEEN. While he is number one in Japan, Paul Rodgers will also be recording with Queen. As we reported yesterday Roger Taylor, Brian May and Rodgers have been working on some new tracks. And May confirmed the guys will indeed be recording around February and March. But contrary to reports that Queen would be hitting the road, May said they wouldn’t be touring this year.

SUPER STACK

FOR BEST NEW ALBUM 2006

"Every Track on this cd is excellent "Lucy Piller

(give them a listen)

The Sudbury-bred, Southern-fed sound of SUPERSTACK verges on a force of nature - powerful, organic, captivating, relentless. Lead singer and guitarist Scott Donnelly, drummer Brian Lahaie, and bassist Greg Mihajic have grabbed the essence of 70's soul rock by the throat and breathed new life into it with 12 tracks of potent new juice that'll shoot straight up your spine and wiggle its way down again. Conjure up a musical love child of James Brown, Humble Pie, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Jet and The James Gang, and you’ll be on the right track.

http://www.procolharum.com/gnidrolog_cc.htm

Gnidrolog was a British progressive rock band formed in the early 70s

by brothers Colin and Stewart Goldring. The band's name is based on spelling their surname backwards, with concessions to pronounceability. In 1972, they released both their debut and sophomore albums, In Spite of Harry's Toe-Nail and Lady Lake, before disbanding due to a lack of commercial success. Despite having played gigs with fairly well-known bands like Colosseum, King Crimson, Gentle Giant, Wishbone Ash, Soft Machine and Magma in their brief career, they have always remained relatively obscure.

After disbanding, all members went on to do session work.

After a break of 27 years they got back together in 1999 and released their third studio

album entitled Gnosis in 2000

Completely Free

Tribute band

Playing Friday 12th Jan 2007

The Springhead Pub Hull UK

Completely Free formed in 2003 under the name 4 play free.
Since that time the band has undergone radical line-up changes in the constant pursuit of the perfect ‘Free’ sound.

Danny Barrick (drums) joined in 2004, a solid rock drummer by trade has taken to the unique
style of Simon Kirke superbly, plus he’s a big guy so he’s handy to have around!

Next to be recruited was Joe Cooper. At 17, Joe is the youngest of the band and although very talented,
has the least experience. He’s mastered the look, the sound and even the Andy Fraser sway!

Next was Bob Canty (guitar) joined in 2005, Bob (although he doesn’t look it)
has been playing the circuit for many years. Being a very accomplished guitarist had no problems
in recreating the tone and vibrato of Paul Kossoff. Remember: it’s not what you play, it’s what you don’t!

Last but not least is the only original member and founder, Bert Preston.
Bert is lead vocalist and has never looked back after first hearing the sound
 of Free when he was 15. He has managed to capture the soulful yet gritty tone of Paul Rodgers;
he even looks like him a bit too (without the unibrow!)

Free'd are a four piece band who play the music of Free in the same raw style as Paul Rodgers,

Paul Kossoff, Andy Fraser and Simon Kirke in the late 60s/early 70s.

They play the Merseyside and North Wales rock pub and club circuit.

Live shows in the UK

Friday 12th, The Southend Club, Downham Road, Tranmere.

Saturday 13th Bridge Inn, Wrexham Road, Pontblyddyn, Mold, Clwyd.

Saturday 27th, Oaklands Hotel, Hoole Road, Chester.

logo

Free at Last were formed in 1982 under the name Uncle Sam. Uncle Sam featured three of the current members, Jak (guitar/vocals), Shane (guitar) and Mick (drums) until Dave joined on bass in 1994.
Uncle Sam's set contained a few original songs plus covers by such classic acts as ZZ Top, Pat Travers and of course Free. All the guys in the band have always had a great passion for the music of Free, so in 1996 when deciding to create a tribute there was only one choice who it would be.
Since then they have gone from strength to strength headlining at Bill Flynn's Free Convention and playing many of the top venues around the country, universally agreed to be the best Free and Bad Company tribute around.
With the original Bad Company reforming to promote their Anthology 2cd set, Paul Rodgers releasing solo albums and joining Queen as their singer for a world tour, it only serves to prove sustained interest in what the band are trying to recreate.
So for a night of 70's style red hot blues influenced, soul stealing ROCK the choice must be

FREE AT LAST!
