 The Kim Mitchell Show

He’s the man who sang with the likes of Free, Bad Company and most recently, Queen.  His voice is unmistakable, and he’s even jammed with our afternoon guy before.
This Tuesday after 4 PM, Kim Mitchell welcomes Paul Rodgers to Q107’s Hard Rock Café street studio to talk about his career and his recent solo DVD, “Live in Glasgow,” which went to #1 on the Canadian music DVD SoundScan charts for 2 weeks in July.
As a special treat, Kim may even jam with Paul.  What they’ll play, they don’t know…yet.  As Kim likes to say when he gets together with other musicians, “It’s all about the hang.”
That’s Paul Rodgers on The Kim Mitchell Show, this Tuesday afternoon after 4 PM, right here on Classic Rock Q107.

Desolation Angels Tribute band

I went to the DA show last night - amazing - truly amazing.

They played for two hours and with so much heart. It was my fantasy set list with a Free segment toward the end.

A true tribute to the band. Best outdoor show of the summer including Ozzfest.

I highly recommend people going out to see them.

"London's tribute to Free and Bad Company"

Introducing

ALL RIGHT NOW

Stretch - VOCALS - A well seasoned blues man, Stretch has gigged extensively and has also toured with Peter Green. Surrey's Hoochie Coochie man is the perfect front man for both Free and Bad Company material.

Terry Gregory - BASS - For the last decade, Terry has been the bassist of choice for some of Britain’s finest guitarists (including Genesis guitarist Steve Hackett, jazz virtuoso Martin Taylor, modern maestro Shaun Baxter) and has spent much of this time recording and performing on the international stage.

Terry brings this considerable insight and experience to recreating the music of another home grown product, the legendary and classic British rock band Free, and in particular to collaborating with the work of guitar genius Paul Kossoff and influential Andy Fraser (bass).

Ed Williams - DRUMS - Having played with many bands in various parts of the world Ed now brings his talents into the classic rock arena with precision, feel and the commitment necessary to make a rock steady groove for the band.

Roy Smith - AXE - Having gigged the London pub and club scene for the last decade this mad axeman's Les Paul cries and screams for ALL RIGHT NOW.

Two of the surviving members of Bad Company guitarist Mick Ralphs and drummer Simon Kirke are talking about performing together. Kirke says, "We always got on so well, and he is still a great player. I am itching to play again. I miss my drums a lot." Singer Paul Rodgers, who splits his time between solo work and singing with Queen, probably won't be joining the duo, saying, "I think not at this point." Bad Company last toured in 2002, but only two of the original four members were involved. Ralphs and Kirke last played together in June at the Rock and Roll Fantasy Camp in London. Bass player Boz Burrell died last year from a heart attack at the age of 60.
